In an incredibly hypocritical and overtly underhanded statement to the NAACP today, Michelle Obama criticized the Tea Party movement as “racist” and encouraged blacks to “increase their intensity” in the first for social justice.
Story from ABC News:
In her speech, the first lady focused on the issue of childhood obesity and her “Let’s Move” initiative, but outside of her remarks, anti-Tea Party activism has been a key focus of the gathering, which conservative leaders say is driven solely by a political agenda.
Tea Party members have used “racial epithets,” have verbally abused black members of Congress and threatened them, and protestors have engaged in “explicitly racist behavior” and “displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically,” according to the proposed resolution.
“We’re deeply concerned about elements that are trying to move the country back, trying to reverse progress that we’ve made,” NAACP spokeswoman Leila McDowell told ABC News. “We are asking that the law-abiding members of the Tea Party repudiate those racist elements, that they recognize the historic and present racist elements that are within the Tea Party movement.”
Really? So the Tea Party participants who are freedom-loving, want limited government and individual empowerment are taking us a step backward in time? Is Michalle Obama and the NAACP spokeswoman speaking of the totally manufactured charge by the Congressional Black Caucus whose members claimed they had racial slurs shouted at them on the steps of the capital? All videos of that incidence show that no such slurs or insults occurred.
I will condemn any hints of racism I find at a Tea Party I’ve ever attended. As soon as I find hints of racism, I’ll let you know.
Maybe Michelle Obama was referring to this incident from the 2008 President Election where members of the KKK stood in front of a polling booth to intimidate minority voters:
Oh wait, it was the New Black Panther Party who was violating voting rights laws by standing in front of a polling station with weapons in hand hurling racial insults to white voters. Furthermore it was President Obama’s Justice Department that has sworn out a new policy of not prosecuting any voting rights cases where the defendant is a minority.
Maybe Michelle Obama was referring to the incident at a St. Louis Tea Party where white Tea Party attendees beat up a black SEIU protester:
Oh wait, that was hired SEIU thugs beating up a black conservative selling buttons and pins outside a Town Hall event for a Democratic candidate.
This really irked me to read that Michelle Obama has the audacity to wrongly call the Tea Party movement racist while she purposely ignores overtly racist elements within the Democratic Party.
Good thing Michelle Obama is on top of this racist issue.
Or maybe not..
