As we all knew was imminent, the porkulus bill has passed the House and the Senate which means it’s currently on it’s way to President Obama’s desk where he will prove that he does not believe in transparency or accountability in government by signing it.
Keep in mind that not a single person who voted on this bill has actually read it. How pathetic is that? These people we elect to create laws aren’t even reading the laws they’re passing.
Boehner lays it out:
He’s right and shame on every member of congress who vote “Yea” without reading the bill, you are a disgrace to the office you hold and the people you serve.
But remember folks, President Obama believes in transparency and freedom of information so the American people know what their government is doing:
I’m sorry, when congress hasn’t read the bill then how are we getting transparency? Another failed promise on the list which grows daily.
Lest we also forget this from the campaign days:
So the Bush administration was secretive but Obama’s administration won’t even let the American people read this bill for 48 hours to see what’s in it. This man is a fraud and he’s proving it everyday. I hope everyone who voted for him is seeing how much he doesn’t believe in anything he says. He’s using fear to cram this bill down our throats and it’s the most secretive, most disgusting form of Washington politics I’ve ever seen.
Here is a break down of the “Yea” and “Nay” votes so you know who to hold responsible for selling American down the socialist road.
First, here is the House of Representatives:
—- YEAS 246 —
Johnson, E. B.
Sánchez, Linda T.
—- NAYS 183 —
Lungren, Daniel E.
—- ANSWERED “PRESENT” 1 —
—- NOT VOTING 3 —
Next, here is the Senate:
Grouped By Vote Position
|Not Voting – 1
There you go, let’s make sure none of the “Yay” votes in the House return in 2010 so perhaps President Obama will have someone to hold him accountable since he lied to us about government transparency.
Report from Fox News:
WASHINGTON — Congress passed the final version of a $787 billion economic stimulus plan aimed at jolting the slumping U.S. economy, sending the legislation to President Obama’s desk for his signature.
Speaking in his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama said Saturday, “I will sign this legislation into law shortly, and we’ll begin making the immediate investments necessary to put people back to work doing the work America needs done.”
He said the newly passed $787 billion economic stimulus legislation marks a “major milestone on our road to recovery.”
At the same time, he cautioned, “This historic step won’t be the end of what we do to turn our economy around, but rather the beginning. The problems that led us into this crisis are deep and widespread, and our response must be equal to the task.”
The bill passed the Senate late Friday night with a vote of 60-38 after Democratic leadership held the vote open for several hours to allow one member, Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, to return to Washington to cast the deciding vote. He had flown back from Ohio, where his mother died earlier in the week.
“We just passed this bill to help our struggling economy,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said.
The House approved the measure earlier in the day by a vote of 246-183, with no Republican “yes” votes and one member voting present.
Remember, the dynamic trio of Reid, Pelosi and Obama are the responsible parties here when your taxes go up and your grandchildren are saddled with trillions more in debt. Remember how much the Democrats screamed bloody murder about the deficit under Bush? Well that’s gone now and has been replaced with the opposite feelings toward Obama, they need him to increase the deficit and spend us into oblivion.
Just for the record, I spoke against President Bush’s wasteful spending as well.
Just another example of the audacity of lies and broken promises put forth by our lofty Commander-in-Chief. Flashback to the campaign, yet again, of Obama saying he will give the public “5 days” to examine legislation before he signs it.
Perhaps the country has been punk’d.
