Tonight they will clash tonight (1/10/08) from South Carolina moderated by Brit Hume.
Story from USAToday:
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Republican John McCain, fresh from his decisive victory in the New Hampshire primary, returned Wednesday to the state that gave his first White House bid a deadly blow eight years ago.
McCain’s come-from-behind win in the Granite State scrambled the GOP presidential race as it moves to Michigan for Tuesday’s primary and South Carolina’s first-in-the-South contest on Jan. 19.
The Arizona senator started his day in Michigan and ended it with a rally here at The Citadel, a military college that gave him a chance to highlight his record on national security issues and experience as a Navy pilot.T-shirts saying “Sailors for McCain” were on sale.
“This election here in South Carolina will play a major, major role” in choosing the next president, McCain said. “I’m asking for your vote. I won’t let you down.”
All the GOP candidates except California Rep. Duncan Hunter gather in Myrtle Beach today for a debate sponsored by Fox News Channel.
They’ll have to shoot down for the debate and then shoot back to Michigan to continue campaigning. Unlike New Hampshire, I think religion may take more of a center stage and this might be Huckabee’s chance to shine again. However, Romney, Huckabee, and McCain are all about tied in Michigan so this debate will really be more concerned with that race than South Carolina perhaps.
We’ll have complete coverage tonight along with video and analysis. As always, we’ll have the entire debate video up once it airs.
