Why You’re A _________(Fill in the blank)

I tire of the name calling, the automatic questioning of motive when facts and logic cannot be brought to bear on the argument.

You’re a Fascist!”

No, I’m not, I’m a Conservative. A brief survey of the historical facts will lead you to the inescapable conclusion that Fascism grew out of Socialism and has always been an evolution from the left. Conservative thought could not be more in opposition to the tenants of Fascism. Individual liberty, a belief in natural rights and limited government is not the soil that Fascism grew out of.

“You’re a Racist!”

No I’m not! And the next time you level the charge specifically or generally I’m going to want some proof. My hundreds upon hundreds of relationships with minorities might get in the way of providing that proof but, hey, give it a shot. I don’t deny racism is present in America, as a matter of fact I see all manner of racism. Memo to any number of commentators and politicians (Messrs. Sharpton, Jackson, Cliburn, Robinson, Toure, Dyson et al) who attempt to end the conversation with the charge of Racism; not happening anymore. And, I’m not taking you seriously until you’re prepared to attack all manner of racism, not just the type that feathers your particular political or economic bed. My failure to support the President is not racial, it’s based on policy; give me someone who looks like Hubert Humphrey with the same policies and I’ll have the same opinion. Is it possible for you folks to accept honest opposition based on policy?

“You’re an Islamophobe!”

Well, yes and no. Do I fear incursions of Islamist thought, culture and legal standards in America a’la Europe? You bet. Is the nearly universal refusal of Muslims to assimilate a problem; yes! Is the violence a problem? Yes! Is the Terror a problem? Yes! Is the fact that a slow creep toward Sharia undermines our core values a problem?” Yes! It’s not a phobia; a phobia is irrational, rational thought based on a well researched point of view, based on volumes of evidence, reinforced on a nearly daily basis disproves the phobia charge. Oh, by the way a high percentage of that evidence is directly from the mouths of Muslim scholars and clerics. Hey folks, we’re not making this up! You will also come to fear the slow erosions of American values and culture in favor of Islamism; it’s just a case of weather you get there in time or too late.

“You’re a Reactionary!”

If by that you mean that I react to what I perceive as wrong; guilty! If by that you mean that I value American traditions and history; guilty! If by that you mean that I’m exceptionally proud to be an American and see our history as strongly weighted on the side of good; guilty!

“You’re a Warmonger!”

No again. However, if the choice is between the slow erosion of security based on the appeasement of present dangers or military action, give me Seal Team Six! Our enemies understand strength. Anything short of that is license to do more of what we appeased in the first place. The spiral is inevitable as are the results. Iranian nuclear weapons anyone?

“You’re a Xenophobe!”

No, no, no! It’s not a lack of respect for other cultures. I just happen to believe ours is better. Canadians believe theirs is better; I’m not offended by that. I don’t believe that just because a culture or belief system exists that it is automatically equivalent to Western culture and institutions. It is a belief that the advent of Judeo-Christian ethic and democratic institutions are the fundamental underpinnings of the extravagant success we have enjoyed that by the way, no one else has come close to. Our culture, our economic miracle has lifted hundreds of millions out of poverty and aimed them toward democratic institutions. I can’t find an occasion where, say, Islam has accomplished anything equivalent in recent history. It’s a belief that free men, taking responsibility for their actions, families and institutions is the best answer we’ve conjured up yet, and we’re still the best evolution of that idea.

You may have noticed that points are made absent the need to engage in name calling.

    blank__ Neanderthal.

I have the head structure. Thanks for noticing…

  • Here’s the liberal response:

“You’re racist for saying you’re not racist”

It has gotten ridiculous to discuss issues with people unable to backup and/or support their own views with logic and reason versus identity politics. Unfortunately we’ve seen it win elections so I don’t think it’s going to change unless and until candidates on our side learn how to counteract it and shut it down.

I think a lot of Americans are tired of it but not enough of them make it to the voting booth. Instead, this type of political destruction motivates certain segments into voting against candidates because they hate women, blacks, anything, etc…

      Nate

Perception & reality are notoriously two sides of a coin. If there is _right·eous·ness _ in our cause to nail bumcare upon a cross as old Rome did to its murders, thieves, & etc., VOTERS shall speak out ??? THIS WAS the catalyst for election of 2010. Logic & action show we placed stakes to bumcare heart with mallet striking stake head to destroy this hideous demon vampire blood born disease. Wishing to suck America’s blood from our Country’s veins OR at least infecting with life crushing illness.

The other side of the coin is Jesus was placed upon a cross through NO FAULT of his own. Have heard WE CAUSED bumcare computer inability to preform. Manipulation is ON THE EDGE of that coin. Ridges on gold coins were added because of gold removed from the coin. Yet those ridges did NOT alleviate all gold removed from coins.

Sadly we seem destined to carry the cross to the hill for torture. Hopefully FULL measure can be averted. Smallpox scares upon our body for life IF WE survive. $$$ loss of magnitude EVEN IF ended TODAY.

Gold coins now can be tested for purity & weight. Thus providing assurance in product. Have high expectation THAT we will be vindicated…

Hmmmm people shouting down the opposition seems to happen a lot around here.

  • Nate,

LOL, the logic has become exactly that twisted.

  • Godfrey

Here’s the liberal response: “You’re racist for saying you’re not racist”

Well, Nate, when liberals don’t actually say what you want them to say, just put words in their mouth!

  • Godfrey,

It’s worse than that. According to Messrs Toure and Dyson the very accident of being born white guarantees that your a racist. Does being born black result in the same condition?

Can disagreements be separated from racist intent? If not how would I explain my disagreements with white folks?

Ah, it’s all in the motivation you might say, but how exactly will you judge motivation?

    • Bill Hedges

“Motivation” can be shown by consistent passage by Republicans of civil right legislation from April 16, 1862 to present date. Many bills passed with high % to 100 % of Republicans voting YEA. IN OPPOSITIONS by Democrats many times especially FROM DAY ONE….

“Why Martin Luther King Was Republican”

    8/16/2006

“It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S’s: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.”

“Democrats have never really helped Civil Rights or minorities”

    From:

    “The Democrat Race Lie revealed”

    October 13, 1858

“During Lincoln-Douglas debates, U.S. Senator Stephen Douglas (D-IL) states: “I do not regard the Negro as my equal, and positively deny that he is my brother, or any kin to me whatever”; Douglas became Democratic Party’s 1860 presidential nominee”

    April 16, 1862

“President Lincoln signs bill abolishing slavery in District of Columbia; in Congress, 99% of Republicans vote yes, 83% of Democrats vote no”

    To

    August 20, 1996

“Bill authored by U.S. Rep. Susan Molinari (R-NY) to prohibit racial discrimination in adoptions, part of Republicans’ Contract With America, becomes law”

“And let’s not forget the words of liberal icon Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood”…

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population….”

“So the next time any Democrat claims they’ve been supportive of civil rights in America (and been so all along), ask them to explain their past. “We’ve grown” is not gonna cut it, considering they continue to lie about their past to this day, and only someone lacking in common sense would believe two distinct political parties could juxtaposition their stances on civil rights seemingly overnight.”

And I’m tired of the recitation that Southern Democrats became racist Republicans and took those tendencies with them. Even today, it never takes long for a Democrat to play the race card purely for political advantage.
