House passes bill to “fix” unworkable Obamacare

For some completely unknown reason, the Republican-led House of Representatives has passed the “Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013.” I say for unknown reasons because the President has already threatened to veto any such legislation that succeeds in pointing out his unquestionable incompetence.

Aside from that, why interfere with your enemy when he is in the midst of destroying himself? A wise man once said this on Twitter.

Republicans are very, very good a not acting when they should act, and acting when they should sit. In this case, the President is 100% responsible for creating this nightmare scenario for millions of Americans. Let him deal with it. Do not offer to “fix” a problem you did not create.

Beyond that, Obamacare cannot be fixed in the sense that you can make it achieve any of these objectives:

  • Provide quality care
  • Increase insurance competition driving down costs
  • Give consumers more options

The law was never designed to achieve any of those goals, quite the opposite in fact. Therefore, the talk of fixing this piece of trash needs to change to trashing this piece of trash.

There is nothing to be fixed, there is only something to be repealed and replaced with a free enterprise, consumer-driven health insurance market. Anything other than that is a failure of elected politicians to hold true to constitutional principles and act in the best interest of we the people.

THE INEPTNESS OF THE VICHY republicans SHOULD STARTLE NO ONE AT THIS JUNCTURE.YET THEY CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY CONSERVATIVES DON’T GIVE THEM UNQUESTIONED LOYALITY?

This prediction has been made by other wise (and one wise only by way of experience)men besides the Mr.Elliott who is shown above. If you go back to the thread entitled “Suspended Disbelief” dated 28th of October @ 3:14PM I made the prediction they would fall into this trap. Also on 7th of November Rush Limbaugh made the same prediction.(see article below entitled “Rush Limbaugh: It Would Be A Gross Error for republicans To Let Obama Delay The Individual Mandate)

I notice you have this piece under the subheading of 2014 midterm elections:

While many members of the right probably are experiencing “Schadenfreude” right now a lot can happen between now and next November. In fact “A week can be a long time” as British Prime Minister Harold Wilson once said. For the past month after the shutdown every newspaper and television station had the republicans and the right buried for years to come…..now they are talking about the left being buried! But political philosophies don’t stand up for elections. It would be naïve to believe that the long term fate of a political philosophy hinges on a single election.

As Vice President Joe Biden once said about another subject “This is a B.F.D.” but America in 2013 is more divided, more tribal, and less politically flexible than in previous times. This makes the consequences of a screw up less severe politically. Most campaigns today are run on the purely negative aspect with little vision or ideology involved. They often turn on the state of the economy, incumbency, attractiveness of the candidate, effectiveness of the campaign or last moment circumstances. And of course MONEY AND THE MEDIA!

Then on the other side of the coin President Obama is fueled simply by self interest not party interest and he had no quams about Democrats losing their seats in the 2010 election in order for Obamacare to be passed. Will he take the same posture for the 2014 elections? Will the Democratic party let him?
