Obama’s recovery continues, unemployment hits 9.8%

President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment act helped push unemployment to 9.8% in September according to the numbers released today. Once again, Americans are finding out that when the government spends hundreds of billions to grow the size of government, the country loses.

The report from Yahoo News:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. employers cut a deeper-than-expected 263,000 jobs in September, lifting the unemployment rate to 9.8 percent, according to a government report on Friday that fueled fears the weak labor market could undermine economic recovery.

The Labor Department said the unemployment rate was the highest since June 1983 and payrolls had now dropped for 21 consecutive months.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected non-farm payrolls to drop 180,000 in September and the unemployment rate to rise to 9.8 percent from 9.7 percent the prior month. The poll was conducted before reports, including regional manufacturing surveys, showed some deterioration in employment measures.

The government revised job losses for July and August to show 13,000 more jobs lost than previously reported. Preliminary annual benchmark revisions, released together with September’s employment report showed that total non-farm payroll employment for March would have to be revised down about 824,000.

Stubbornly high unemployment is viewed as the missing link in the economy’s recovery from its worst recession in 70 years. The economy is believed to have started growing in the third quarter.

Since the start of the recession in December 2007, the number of unemployed people has risen by 7.6 million to 15.1 million, the department said. While the decline in payrolls has moderated from early this year, companies are still not hiring on a wide scale, likely waiting for a signal that the economic recovery is sustainable.

Once again, let me trot out some charts and graphs on this topic. Keep in mind that the White House promised and projected that without President Obama’s wasteful stimulus package, unemployment would go over 8%. Well here we are, hundreds of billions of dollars in stimulus money later and unemployment is almost hitting 10%. The chart below speaks volumes:

This chart was direct from the White House and their stimulus plan projections. At some point, people will wake up and realize they were sold a terribly bill of goods consisting of nothing more than bloated government and obscene debt.

I am so sick of Obama’s shenanigans!

It is next to impossible to train most liberals responsibility that is me-me harmful. Responsibility to most liberals is a relative term. Relative to its affects upon them personally. My favorite example is the late Teddy. ‘Crusader for the cause’. Build those alternative thingies but not where I can see them from my house with high power telescope.

I thought Democrat new philosophy was pay as you go. Must be mistaken. The dip stick on money supply is measuring empty.

Even obama is not spending approved Stimulus money on projects that were ‘shovel ready’. ha-ha. I will compliment him, he is not a total idiot.

For now there is only talk of a double dip recession. This not spent money could push us over with a word from China or any number of reasons. I do not want to contemplate inflation arising to levels of Germany after WWII.

  • We’d be better off right now having not wasted hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money.

The only shovel-ready project I’m interested in is burying the Democrat-controlled congress in 2010.
