Heck, I was told I was both those things when I openly spoke against going to war with Iraq and our consequent occupation. I know you hang onto everything Palosi, Obama, and the DNC say but try to take a step back and a deep breathe. You are Ok and you are American.

Finally to get to your terrifically and retardedly cut sound bite video you posted. It is well known that Obama is for a single pay health care system. Hell he even said it in his debates against Hillary when she was singing about SINGLE payer universal healthcare but he also said right after that because of the nature and history of United states healthcare industry “Single” Payer universal healthcare is not a practical option. That you can not eliminate health insurance industry but instead you have to compete with it.

Second part that your lack luster video covers is the statement of employer based health coverage. Which is something I am completely against and I am glad Obama is too.

This is a big deal because to lose your job or be unemployed for a period of time shouldn’t cause your health insurance premium to double the next day after you are layed off.

Americans should be able to purchase affordable health insurance outside of their employer for this reason alone. If anything Employers should be paying me more so they don’t have to pay for the insurance (which saves them money) and I can buy my own. However, our system is so broke that we literally are begging our companies to pick up some of the check because it is so expensive. So we first must get a plan out there that is affordable outside of employment.

But once again, Nate, your blindness to any real discussion has pointed out that “Universal” health coverage does not mean “single” payer health care but I know that is all you hear when the word “Universal” is used.

This is all well and good if they are competing against another insurance company but the President ISN’T COMPETING WITH ANYONE.THE GOVERNMENT DOESN’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MAKING A PROFIT,PAYING TAXES NOR PAYING SALERIES……THEY GET THEIR MONEY FREE THROUGH OUR TAXES.An insurance company has expenses.Let me use the example if I was sueing the government they could drag it on and on because their funds aren’t limited and they have a large staff at their beck and call while mine are and I couldn’t go on forever. No the President doesn’t come out and say he wants to put insurance companies out of business but like many other things the left doesn’t look at the UNINTENDED CONSEQUNCES BUT JUST THE COSMETIC FEEL GOOD STATEMENTS.The President isn’t stupid he knows what the consequences are and he’s aiming to accomplish that and expand his program.

DDMao. I’ve heard the numbers. Polls say something sure, but you can not base the sucess of health care based on poll results. Polls do not speak for everyone, only those polled. I have never once been asked a question for a poll in my living life, so how can polls accurately tell us anything?

I am not comparing the efficiency of health care versus those who are against a proposed bill, what would be the point of that DD?

I have also not argued social security, medicare or medicaid, though I have given my opinion on this topics long ago on this site.

It looks to me that the two of you are responding quickly full of emotion and missing the point.

Bill, I have never claimed to know all or to be an expert on anything, you inserted that statement on your own. Honestly as I have been reading the comments over the past couple of days, and yours have mostly been insults and useless. Grow up. One thing that would cut cost is placing malpractice limitation. Doctors and others can not change obama’s mind. Under public plan I am sure it will pass. It cuts needed tests, not for patients well being, but for Doctors and hospitals lawsuite protection.

Those who know health care are those who are health care. Physicians, Nurses, Hospitals, ect are the ones who understand health care. They are the ones who are educated and trained to perform this vital task.

I will agree with what Obama says needs to be done as far as:

Everyone should be able to receive the proper health care that they need.

People should NOT be denied coverage simply because they have a pre-existing conditions.

People should not be turned away from capable physicians and pushed into other “covered” physicians.

These are valid points and need to be addressed.

Private insurance can become very expensive as JD’s father knows first hand. There are private insurance companies that deny a patient coverage if they have pre-existing conditions. If they do not deny them, they quote them a cost that is not always affordable. Many private insurance companies only allow patients to see physicians within their network, which are not always the specialist that are needed by the patient. Many insurance companies railroad patients who need to see a specialist to the point that by the time a patient gets to the specialist, it is too late, they condition, such as cancer, has already metastasized.

I am not agreeing with the proposed bill as I have not read it completely. But valid points have been made by Obama on the current state of health care and how he wants to change it.

As JD has stated, the public option is just that, an option. If private insurance companies can not compete with a health care option that gives patients what they need, then by all means, put them out of business. I have heard all the arguments against this, so if you throw them at me again, I will not respond.

If you want private insurance to survive, then perhaps the target needs to be Private Insurance, not Politicians. Fight the private sector, force them into being ethical, make them take care of citizens the way they should be taken care of.

If you don’t. Obama will. And you will obviously not like the results. If this is the case, then why not fix health care yourself, if you can not, then blame yourself for what will happen when Obama does is dirty work.

As I have stated before, and others have as well, health care, the way it is now, is not working for everyone. Many people are very unhappy with it, and something will be done whether you like it or not. So if you have a beef with the proposed Bill, do something about it, other than cry about it, fix health care, bottom line.
