The media has basically glossed over this story while editorializing and hyping another murder in the news. Therefore, in the interest of honoring Pvt. Long and his decision to serve his country, I have chosen to bring this story to light.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A 23-year-old man upset about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan opened fire from his truck at two soldiers standing outside a military recruiting station here on Monday morning, killing one private and wounding another, the police said.
The gunman, identified by the police as Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad of Little Rock, fled the scene and was arrested minutes later a short distance from the recruiting station, in a bustling suburban shopping center. The police confiscated a Russian-made SKS semiautomatic rifle, a .22-caliber rifle and a handgun from his black pickup truck.
The two privates, who were both from Arkansas, were in Little Rock as part of a recruiting program that typically uses soldiers recently out of basic training to promote the Army in their home regions, Army officials said.
“They were serving their country,” said Lt. Col. Thomas F. Artis, commander of the Oklahoma City recruiting battalion, which includes Arkansas. “They were just standing outside, just taking a five-minute break, just minding their own business — and this happens.”
The dead soldier was identified as Pvt. William A. Long, 23, of Conway, about 30 miles north of Little Rock. The other victim, Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, was in stable condition at Baptist Medical Center, Chief Stuart Thomas of the Little Rock Police Department said.
In a lengthy interview with the police, Mr. Muhammad said he was angry about the killing of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, Chief Thomas said. Previously known as Carlos Bledsoe, Mr. Muhammad told investigators that he had converted to Islam as a teenager, Chief Thomas said.
Chief Thomas said investigators believe that Mr. Muhammad acted alone. He seemed to be familiar with the Army recruiting office because it was not far from his home, the chief said, but might have been on the prowl for anyone in uniform.
According to Fox News, Mr. Muhammad has pleaded not guilty:
A convert to Islam accused of having “political and religious motives” in a deadly Arkansas military center shooting pleaded not guilty to capital murder Tuesday and was ordered held without bond.
One soldier died and another was wounded in what police say was a targeted attack by Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, on U.S. forces.
Muhammad, an American citizen who is a convert to Islam and previously was known as Carlos Bledsoe, already had been under investigation by the FBI at the time of the shootings.
Muhammad was charged in Monday’s death of Pvt. William Long, 23, outside the Army-Navy Career Center, which handles recruiting, in Little Rock.
A prosecutor said Muhammad admitted shooting Long and another soldier “because of what they had done to Muslims in the past.”
Long and Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, had recently completed basic training and had never seen combat. Ezeagwula was in stable condition at a hospital.
Private Long chose to serve his country and has now given his life for this cause. The media has not discussed this story much because it does not fit into the liberal mold.
Private Long is essentially a victim of the War on Terror at the hands of a Muslim extremist. He should be honored above all, my prayers and thoughts are with his family.
Hot Air has some interesting insight on the White House’s priorities:
When Dr. Tiller was murdered, the White House released a statement on Sunday afternoon. As of 11:15 a.m. EST, the Commander in Chief has yet to release a statement condemning the murder of a member of the armed forces by a suspected terrorist.
Still no statement as of now. Very shameful.

Also, Nate, You don’t know what Obama has or has not done. Just because he has not made a public announcement doesn’t mean he hasn’t prepared anything for the family directly. Good article until the point you decided to spin in for your own personal Obama smear campaign.

JD, he put out a major public press release for the murder of a private citizen. He did not give a public press release condemning the murder of a US soldier in a terrorist attack.
People can decide what that means. For me personally, I wonder why it is more important to publicly address the murder of an abortion doctor, however, it is not important to publicly address a terrorist attack by a Muslim extremist which ended in the death of a US soldier.
I checked again, no statement on the issue whatsoever. I would be condemning any President who followed this same pattern.

Reality check__ If politically expedient, he will.

2 – Irresponsible and reckless economic policies that no Republican president would ever have gotten away with. This includes running more than trillion dollar deficit this year. The defecit in 2008 under Bush was $459Billion, less than one-half of Obama’s defecit.
Multi trillions of dollars in taxes for health care and energy loaded on a struggling economy.
2- Irresponsible and reckless foreign policy that will clearly leave America less safe….. how many attacks of any kind on America since Sept 11th? The Bush record against terrorism stands.. period!
Granted, there was no real choice for President in 2008 election. However Obama is incapable and unqualified, and he’s showing it more and more every day.
úMy husband is currently serving as a Marine in Iraq. We spent our first wedding anniversary apart. He is a legal immigrant from the Philippines.
To know we both are sacrificing precious time apart for the sacrifice of those less fortunate keeps me going every day.
Those helpless women and children know nothing other than oppression and humiliation.
When I hear that my president cares nothing for our mutual sacrifice, which God calls on me to bear, I take peace in knowing my husband serves God who is above all men.
I am ashamed of my president, but my kingdom lies in Heaven, not on this earth.
I pray soon that all Americans will stand for what is just and true as we are called to do by our creator.

No murder really weighs more than the next to me.
We have heard plenty of stories of terrorist murders, talking about another one begins to appear redundant to me.
A murder of an abortion clinic physicians is a bit redundant as well. If you ask me, that’s local news, not national news.
Rather than rant about who’s death means more, how about we discuss the act of murder itself and what needs to be done about the laws that pertain to the acts we despise.
Oh yea, who cares what murder Obama is paying attention too? I mean honestly I’d rather him focus on something different all together. I’m sure there are many other things he could be spending time on.

Well Bill O’Reily got caught lying about this. Why people want to hype this up as something no one is covering? Any suggestions? Selective news comprehension. Well at least CNN had to call him out on this lie and they showed all the news coverage they gave it. My only suspicion is certain people of a particular group or party would like to create the illusion that they would rather report a story about someone going into a church and killing a well known figure for ideological reasons to hurt one side of a particular ideological debate. But would not want to discuss a “MUSLIM” killing a military personnel out of fear of some ideological damage.

I hear a lot on Fox news about other news media disregarding news or getting it wrong. I let it slide. Since you and path seem to take note, perhaps I should follow suite and report it here. Shouldn’t let mistakes be one sided. Might get the wrong impression that only Fox News makes mistakes.
Of course Bill O’Reily has been # 1 well over 100 months. He’s doing something right. Rush is at his highest ratings, while Liberal radio is falling by a wayside. I posted a link on that.
Obama is the man because so many people voted for him. Bill O’Reily and Rush are the men because so many people watch and listen them.
