Expected: Double standard for Bush vs. Obama

Do we all remember back when the Saudi King visited President George W. Bush’s ranch a while ago down in Texas? We all remember the controversy over how “close” they were?

Right.

Well in Turkey, we saw Obama do this:

He bowed to Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah and we haven’t heard much about it. The press defends him while they slaughtered Bush for greeting Abdullah at his ranch way back when.

I know, Obama isn’t an oil barren launching wars for oil so it’s fine that he bowed, right? Just showing respect, right?

Can imagine if Bush bowed to Abdullah? The press would have a field day saying we’re submitting to Saudi Arabia for oil.

Perhaps Bush was showing respect as well? Could be? No, of course not!

  1. I am uncomfortable with what past President Bush did. Just as I am of Bill Clinton accepting funds for his charity from some rogue places.

I am outraged what Obama, a sitting President, did. Bush is a private citizen now. Obama is our leader

  2. Etiquette__Do Nattion’s leaders, other than from Middle East, bow to Kiings ? Does American Presidents bow.

No one touches the Queen of England_but, Obama’s wife.

    Etiquette- Socially correct behavior

Obama, your pay grade is President. I know some would call you a hillbilly. But I know hillbillies and respect them.

  5. “CNN must have missed this story. I just got through listening to Wolf Blitzer interviewing Tina Brown about how much style and class Barack and Michelle have compared to other American presidents and their First Ladies, particularly George W. Bush and Laura Bush. Michelle is a cross between Princess Diana and Oprah Brown told Blitzer. Obama is always fit and flashy she said. He wears “monochronistic colors” that really make him look hip. Michelle Malkin wonders where the Left is. The liberal media tore into Bush for appearing too cozy with Abdullah by holding his hand. I guess they’re too busy analyzing Michelle’s touchiness with Queen Elizabeth II to have noticed that the President of the U.S. bowed to a foreign monarch. As an aside, Obama was born a citizen of the British commonwealth because of his Kenyan father’s nationality. Obama gave the Queen and Prince Philip a simple handshake and a head nod. (the head nod apparently counts as a bow). King Abdullah must have a more special place in Obama’s heart with that full bend of the waist bow he gave him. An American representative of the Saudi royal family helped pay for his Harvard law school education”.

Only “subjects” are expected to bow to the King. Obama’s law education paid for by Kings family.

Food for thought__From example(Acorn), we know Obama pays his debts !

  6. I’m not making a decision here either way between President Bush’s conduct.HOWEVER from my experience in Vietnam it is customary for two very close friends of the same sex to hold hands as a symbol of this friendship.Silver braclets are also given in the same regard.
What is a custom in another portion of the world is taken in a different light in America.

You “LOL” a lot. Can’t cope with facts and figures I guess. You worry about, “shouldn’t this be under commentary or are we considering this news?”, like that matters.

Then your last comment. Customs differ between Countries. I would hope I don’t have to explain that to you. When my nephew went to work in Mid East he gave me copy of do and don’t there. Some things o.k. here will get you in trouble there.

Guys holding hands in parts of California is not long held customs. Just another LOL in a long line by you.

I’ll save my accurate colorful response. Use your very vivid imagination.

As normal, you will disregard facts along with evidence, then LOL.

Among my friends we have a term… “convenient funny bone”. When you put your foot in your mouth and can’t get out, you yell… “JOKE”, trying to save face.

We run into people like that sometimes.

I believe everything jd wrote has been addressed and ended up on the short in of the stick at least in recent memory. I’ve changed your quote to:

“jd TIRED OF DEFENDING THE INDEFENSIBLE “.

  21. Is sad to have a President who has to be a liar concerning a “bow”. Such a pity. A V.President who must be a liar about conversation with Bush. Most here know Biden long history of foot’n'mouth condition.
