Kel, thank you for your thoughtful post. The problem I have with this budget being passed under the radar, if you will, is that there was little debate and it wasn't covered much by the media. The congress decided to take the opportunity to fly this thing under the radar while everyone else was fixed on Obama and the G-20. Also, I thought President Obama was going to make public everything he was going to sign, however, the budget was only posted for 2 days compared to the 5 initial days he promised. Now I realize that 2 days compared to 5 days may seem like peanuts, but in order for people to read the bills being proposed, or in this case the budget that yours and my tax payer dollars will be spent on, I think it only fair to be given the time we were promised to look over such documents.

Our big rush to cut cost on health care we do not judge examples in real life. Why not ? We want socialism so where on earth is socialism better than our system. Throwing hugh amount of money did not get us out of Depression or any recession. Reaganomics did give America the longest Bull Run in American history by cutting taxes.

So what Country on this Earth supports Obama's Spending out of recession and social health Care is the answer ?

“Do not repeat what Britain has done… please do not move towards a national health care system… Prevent it, resist it,” Hannan implored on Sean Hannity’s radio talk show today. “It’s like going back to the Iron Curtain times. You’re expected to stand in line and be grateful for whatever you get.” He said the UK’s socialized health care has delivered some of the worst health outcomes imaginable for the UK’s citizens, for a once-prosperous nation in the Western world"

"Russian Prime Minister Vladamir Putin has said the US should take a lesson from the pages of Russian history and not exercise “excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence”.

“In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute,” Putin said during a speech at the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.”

"Putin also echoed the words of conservative maverick Ron Paul when he said, “we must assess the real situation and write off all hopeless debts and ‘bad’ assets.
"It also attempts to improve issues like healthcare — an intial influx of cash and investment into healthcare will make the system less expensive in the long run."

So throwing money at the system will solve the problem? Kel, I think you're missing the fact that Obama is throwing money at it to eventually try and pass socialized health care. He is not trying to help the private system, he's trying to replace it.

If you'll take a look at Bush's budget, Obama's budget is not that much more expensive.

The Cap and Trade debackle is taking a few hits in the Senate:

"Please pass Al Gore a Valium -- and better make it a double -- because his cap-and-trade dreams just took a dive in the U.S. Senate. In a vote late Wednesday, no fewer than 26 Democrats joined all 41 Republicans to insist that any new cap and tax on carbon energy would require at least 60 votes.

Tennessee Republican Lamar Alexander called it "the biggest vote of the year" so far, and he's right. This means Majority Leader Harry Reid can't jam cap and tax through as part of this year's budget resolution with a bare majority of 50 Senators. More broadly, it's a signal that California and East Coast Democrats won't be able to sock it to coal and manufacturing-heavy Midwestern states without a fight. Senators voting in favor of the 60-vote rule included liberals from Wisconsin, Michigan and West Virginia. Now look for Team Obama to attempt to impose cap and tax the non-democratic way, via regulation that hits business and local governments with such heavy costs that they beg Congress for a less-harmful version."

There were several admendments concerning the cap and trade, as soon as I get a few minutes I'll find them and post them. On was a republican amendment that passed just after Boxer's Amendment - it passed with only 5 or dems voting against it. Said any cap and trade legally canNOT increase the cost of energy or gasoline.

Yes, this means they will indeed be approving Obama's budget since they agreed on his budget's framework.

For example:

"The measures now move to a conference committee where negotiators must resolve differences between the two chambers, a prelude to the more difficult choices that will be required to implement Obama’s initiatives. While Democrats back the president’s vision for transforming huge sectors of the economy, they remain fiercely divided over the details."

Congress signed on to his budget and passed the goals Obama wants to achieve in his budget like socialized health care. Now they will squabble over the details but this essentially means they have approved his budget.

The budget, by definition, won't be passed until April. This was the vote agreeing that they will be approving Obama's budget once they hammer the details.

Therefore, they have approved his budget.
