"Police in Baltimore today made what is believed to be the first arrest in a civil disobedience program aimed at supporting homeowners who refuse to vacate their foreclosed homes."

"An activist with ACORN — the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now — faces criminal charges after breaking into a home in southeast Baltimore on Thursday to protest the foreclosure crisis sweeping the country."

""This is our house now," ACORN member Louis Beverly reportedly said after cutting a lock with bolt cutters at the home."

"Beverly will be charged with fourth-degree burglary, according to Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Baltimore Police. Attempts to reach his attorney, Justin Brown, were not immediately successful."

"Donna Hanks, who owned the home since 2001, lost it in September when she couldn't make her $1,995 mortgage payments. It was not immediately clear whether Hanks re-entered her home last week, but she was not expected to be arrested, Guglielmi said"

May all the leaders of Acorn break into foreclosed homes and get arrested.

Babs........Did you catch where in the article it states Acorn wants "exit visa's to be issued by community boards for any company before they are allowed to leave a community" or "unionization of workfare welfare recipients".
This is what we have to look forward to the next 4 years.

Good link, DDMao. I found that ACORN's website itself was very telling about their history. They're proud of it.

I'll do my best to keep up with the latest on them. I think they are a dangerous group of subversives in this country.

First let me say that we need to keep up this discussion about Acorn.I have just googled "politicians with ties to Acorn" and guess which site is at the top of the list about the subject? You're right it's youdecide and with advertisement like that we will expand our member list.
NOW ! for an excellent article on Acorns history I suggest:

With a little time and research, I'd bet we could come up with a whole list of folks in the House and Senate who have and are enabling ACORN in their housing efforts as well as their voter registration practices.

Maybe we should start collecting these names, and "make them famous".
