  • are they winner take all? or will they split delegates within the states?

  • On the Republican side, they’re all winner-take-all, that’s their system. It’s not the same on the Democratic side where they’re all split proportionally. Texas is even more complex split on congressional districts.

  • Thanks Nate. Wow this race has taken an interesting turn. 🙂

  • Yes, this could take a serious turn if Hillary ends up winning Texas. It’s still too close to call but she’s been pulling away by a few points.

  • The Angry American

The way it looks so far…if the numbers follow the current trend…if I’m not mistaken I think Obama would still be ahead in delegates making it a DNC/superdelegates decision?

  • The Angry American

I just checked CNN’s website and it kind of has me confused. they have Obama ahead in the caucus but Clinton ahead in the Primary….

  • The Angry American

I’ve been hearing this conversation at work all day today……

CNN) — In what may be bad news for Clinton, Democrats across all four states overwhelmingly say they want super delegates to vote based on which candidate finishes ahead in the pledged delegate count at the end of the primary season.

Majorities of Democrats in Texas (62 percent), Ohio (61 percent), Rhode Island (57 percent) and Vermont (66 percent) all said the super delegates should cast their vote for the primary winner, not for who they think can best win in November.

Why is this bad news for Clinton? As CNN’s John King has made clear on his interactive delegate map, it is nearly impossible for Clinton to catch up to Obama’s pledged delegate count. She would have to win the rest of the states convincingly to do so, given that the party allots delegates proportionally. Barring large blowouts in the remaining contests, its likely Clinton will finish behind Obama in pledged delegates.

And at the same time I have bene hearing a lot of people that vote republican say they are voting for hillary just to try to keep Obama from garnering the delegates. I have to say this has turned out to be the most interesting election in my memory and I’m old enough to remember the Reagan blow out elections. My folks went out and partied that night…. at 5 years old I was watching the elections on tv…..

Too bad we don’t live in a democracy, since that’s supposely our reason for Iraq, nevermind all the dictators we help all the time. I wish people would pull their head out of their *** and swallow the truth. It won’t matter who you vote for, the president has already been chosen. Bush benefited from the electronic voting machines twice in a row. Gas prices are highest ever because the U.S. dollar is crap- all because of another stupid war. The rich elite using terrorism as justification for destroying America and everything it stands for. The country’s in the crapper, and its only going to get worse, unless we do something about it.

  • Michael

Angry, see my recent commentary. I spell out similar thoughts there.

    Angry American,

I just checked cnn as well and it is a bit confusing. They have even calculated potential super delegate and they have Obama ahead 1,452 to 1,365. This includes up to the minute counts from yesterday’s voting AND super delegates. If their count is anywhere close to accurate than Obama is still coming out of yesterday winning by a landslide even though Clinton won the states that she has.

  • After reading the results from Ohio and Texas I’ve realized something very disturbing. As an Obama supporter, it irks me that he carries the African American vote by over 85%. I understand the pride AA’s must feel in having such a strong candidate in the race for President, but I don’t think pride or race should supercede everything else. It should feel so insulting to the Clinton’s who have fought on behalf of civil rights throughout their entire lives, something I am very proud of, to be experiencing such an about-face from the the black community. The polling results show that whites in both Texas and Ohio are pretty evenly split between the candidates. Even Hispanics, although leaning towards Clinton, are much more fairly divided between the candidates. Neither have let race or ethnicity dominate their overall decision. This fact demands the question; Who in the Democratic Party has moved beyond the racial, ethnic and gender divide? I’m beginning to take a second look at Clinton. Maybe Obama as VP.

  • Babs

The Texas caucus has listed 36% in all morning. When do you foresee the final results being released? I’m particularly curious to see this. As I was watching the returns last night, Obama had the first lead on the Texas primary, but didn’t hold on to it. It will be interesting to see if the caucus results prove the same.

I wonder at the gullability of the American people. First, do we want another Clinton running (or should I say ruining) this Country? Slick Billy disgraced the Office of the President of these United States and the American People. I served twenty years in the Navy and was still in when he won the first time. My ship was in the Med at that time and when we came back to the States, it was like an Alice in Wonderland experience. The U.S. we left was not the same when we came back and it has not been the same since. Bush may have gotten us into a rotten war, but if Clinton had been more concerned about running this country instead of his sex life, then maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess. Clinton had a golden opportunity to take out Bin Laden at least once and failed to act. He lied to us on T.V., he sold sleepovers in the White House, and he was the first sitting president to be impeached. The rub is that he didn’t have the consideration to step down, though I am not sure that Gore would have been much of an improvement. And let us not forget how Hilary blew smoke at us, by claiming all of the investigations and such was a “Major Right-Wing Conspiracy”, which it wasn’t. If you think Hilary was the long suffering wife in all of that, then be careful that someone doesn’t try to sell you real estate in Florida. Bill had been doing the same things long before he entered the White House. I believe she was just as much culpable as he was. Then there are all of the mystery deaths that happened throughout his terms in office. And you got to know that if Hillary gets elected, that he won’t be quietly sitting in the background and let her control it all. Bill has been called one of our greatest presidents. Compared to who? Kennedy was a womanizer also, but he was a strong Commander in Chief and he got us out of a particularly dangerous situation. One shudders to think what would have happened if it was Clinton who was going toe to toe with Kruschev.

As for Obama, I marvel that so soon after 9-11, we are considering a candidate whose name alone sounds like it belongs to some terrorist group!! The question of him being a Christian instead of a muslim is pretty shaky. It has been said that the “church” he is a member of is anti-American and such. Do we want someone like that in the White House. Of course, we did have a president, who in the past urinated on the American Flag, while in Viet Nam, during the Viet Nam war. Guess who?

If Clinton had been a president in any other time period of this Great Country, that he would have been tar and feathered and railroaded out of office, right to prison, and I am not talking about the 1800’s. I believe that even as far as the 70’s amd possibly in the 80’s it would have been so.

As for the Republicans, I am afraid that they are going to do again what they did during Clinton’s second bid for office. They handed the presidency on a silver platter to him, because who in their right mind would ever thought that Dole had a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning the election? Can McCain beat either Hillary or Obama? I sort of doubt it. Soooooo, this is probably going to be one of the worst predidential election that this country has ever known. No doubt the Founding Fathers are rolling (no make that spinning) in their graves. May GOD have mercy on this Country, that is if the ACLU will let HIM have the opportunity.

    New Skeptic,

Did I read your statement correctly? Did you say that you were a proud Obama supporter and then say that because he has gotten over 85% of the black vote that (this and this alone) you will now vote for Clinton? I mean if you are saying that it is wrong for blacks to vote for Obama because he is black but think that it is o.k. to change from voting Obama to voting Clinton simply because how OTHER people are voting, I am concerned about your logic. We are supposed to vote for who we believe will make the BEST PRESIDENT, which I think you sort of said yourself, not vote for someone simply because they are NOT being voted for by black people, RIGHT?

  • Melvin

To continue some of the comments from Mark. I also am 8 years ex Navy and I have to admit that things changed very much for the worse in the Navy when Clinton I took office. As for the various deaths and murders that took place. Here is a list of them I have found on several sites that were tracking the Clinton Empire. I am not sure if every one of them are completely recorded correctly but some of them that were marked suicides that obviously were not are worth paying attention to.

1-James McDougal – Clinton ‘s convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr’s investigation.

2 -Mary Mahoney – A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown . The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House .

4 – Ron Brown – Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown’s skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller commited suicide.

Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House . Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

8 -Jerry Parks -Head of Clinton’s gubernatorial security team in Little Rock . Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock . Park’s son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton . He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

9 -James Bunch – Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a ‘Black Book’ of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas .

10 -James Wilson – Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He wasreported to have ties to Whitewater.

11 -Kathy Ferguson- Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

12 -Bill Shelton – Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancee.

Melvin, this is truly the stuff movies are made of, isn’t it? Mind sharing where/which website on the internet you got this from? I’d like to visit there.

  • Melvin

Babs, here are just some of the sites listing all of those suspicious deaths. You can find most of them just doing a Google search. The bad part is if you dig deeper into all of them they actually did die in the fashion listed in the sites.

  • IndiMinded

I’m not sure where Melvin found that particular list, but I did find a place

that discusses some of those cases in depth and why most of them aren’t half as suspicious as they look at a glance.

I’m not sure how accurate is, but it alleges that this list is a slanderous bit of half truth and occasional lies that’s been going around in various forms since Bill’s presidency.

But come on, the internet wouldn’t lie to us, would it?

  • Babs

IndiMinded, that was pretty much my take, the internet wouldn’t lie. *L* This list – were it accurate – would make it look as though the Clintons left more dead bodies behind than Suddam Hussein himself.
