Hillary and the Iraq War, Then and Now

Share/Bookmark

This little tidbit from NewsMax:

Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday she wouldn’t have started the war in Iraq and would end it immediately if she’s elected president in 2008.

“If I had been president in October 2002, I would not have started this war,” Clinton said in a forceful speech. She said if Congress doesn’t end the conflict before January 2009, she will if she’s the next president.

“Bring them home, then,” said a man wearing desert camouflage that said “Iraq Veterans Against the War.” Women from the anti-war group Code Pink shouted for quicker action, too, while nearby audience members asked them to quiet down. Clinton raised her voice to be heard and said she understands “the frustration and the outrage.”

Do we forget so soon what happened in 2002:

So Hillary voted Yes on the use of military force in Iraq but if she were president, she wouldn’t have started the war. Way to play the hawk during your senate career and the dove during your presidential campaign. Good game.

I can’t even begin to describe the negative effects that would have on gas prices. Think about logically, if profits are taken away from oil companies, who do you think is going to pay for it? Oh I don’t know, perhaps the consumer?

Hat tip to Hot Air for the original oil profit story.
