Dr. Dobson: Republicans “just don’t get it”

He went on to say that without “values voters”, John Kerry (D-MA) would be President and the Republican Party would be lost.

According to Dobson via WorldNetDaily:

Dick Armey emerged from four years in the wilderness to blame conservative Christians for Tuesday’s defeat. They were, he said, ‘too involved’ with the party. He can’t be serious! Someone should tell him that without the support of that specific constituency, John Kerry would be president and the Republicans would have fallen into a black hole in ‘04,

I personally do agree with Dobson that in order to succeed in ‘08, Republicans need to cater to socially conservative “values voters” as he terms them.

Dobson continued:

In fact, that is where they are headed if they continue to abandon their pro-moral, pro-family and pro-life base. The big tent will turn into a three-ring circus

So Dobon’s message is basically that Republicans should expect to lose if they don’t return to conservative principles and morality. As I stated before if Steele becomes the Chairman of the RNC which is being reported then clearly there will be a strong shift to the right, not the left as Arlen Specter would have it.

The question then becomes, what does this mean for social liberals like Giuliani and McCain? Good question! Will Dobson support them?
